Duties and Responsibilities:

Optometrists treat vision problems. They prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, or vision therapy depending on the problem. Some specialize in industrial vision safety, environmental vision care. They may not however write a medical prescription, treat diseases, or perform surgery.

Education requirements:

Students must take the most challenging high school course available to them in math, science, and English. You need at least 2 years of college in a pre-professional to enter an optometry school. Optometry is 4 years in length.
