Duties and Responsibilities:
Perfusionists operate circulation equipment when it is necessary to replace the patient’s circulatory or respiratory functions. This is most common in heart surgery and similar operations. Perfusionists also control the temperature of the patients during surgery. Their duties include:
Operating heart and lung machines
Administering some types of anesthesia
Administering some types of medication
Average salary:
$50,000
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma with strong background in biology and chemistry is required to be accepted in Perfusionist training programs. Admission preference is given to students with college science work or experience in respiratory therapy and medical terminology.

Patient Representatives address the concerns and special needs of patients and their families.  They evaluate patient satisfaction, investigate complaints, collect information about patient dissatisfaction, work to solve patient problems, and educate staff.
Average Salary:   $20,000 - $40,000
Educational Requirements:

Students interested in this career should take challenging high school courses in business, science, math, and English. Not all requirements are the same but most employers prefer college graduates with backgrounds in health or social services.

Osteopathic Physicians (D.O) diagnose, treat injuries, and diseases. Their main focus is on musculoskeletal system, holistic medicine, proper nutrition, and environmental factors in maintaining good health.
Average Salary:
$110,000
Education:

Students thinking about joining this medical career should take the most challenging high school courses available in science, math, and English. Then after taking three to four years of college, prospective physicians must attend medical school. Medical school usually includes two years of additional study in both basic and clinical sciences and still requires a yearlong internship at a hospital.
